Getting Started:<\/h1>\n

After creating a profile and purchasing a credit, there are a few things you will need to prepare before you enter a showcase.<\/p>\n

Find a good scene to tape:<\/h3>\n

—The scene (including a slate of your name) should be approximately 2 minutes. It should be one continuous take with no edits (except the slate) with only you on camera. Click HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/u> to see examples of the previous top 10 submissions.<\/p>\n

—No monologues (unless otherwise stated on the “current showcase” page). Try picking from a film or TV script with at least you and one other character talking to each other.<\/p>\n

—You should choose something age appropriate.<\/p>\n

—Choose something that fits your look and personality easily. A part that you would get cast in today.<\/p>\n

—Do not choose something that is too well known or iconic. Ideally you want the work to speak for itself without the viewer judging it based on a performance they already know.<\/p>\n

—Don’t use a scene that has not yet aired. <\/p>\n

—Obviously, no nudity or extreme content.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Shoot the scene:<\/h3>\n
\n

Shoot it like a self tape for an audition (reader off camera, neutral background etc). Guides for these can be found all over the internet, this is one: Self Tape Guide<\/a><\/p>\n

Be sure to slate: Say your name looking directly into the camera at the beginning or end
\nof the scene. This is the only place there should be an edit in your submission.<\/p>\n

Scenes need to be saved using the following naming guide: \u201cFull Name \u2013 Month and Year of showcase\u201d E.G: \u201cMarlon Brando \u2013 September 2021\u201d<\/p>\n

You will be asked to provide a link to your submission using Vimeo or even a shared google drive link. please ensure the link works prior to registration and that it does not expire or is set to “private”. the link should not require a password and we will need to be able to download it if necessary.<\/p>\n

All of the above will be needed before you are able to complete the registration form.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Preparation:<\/h3>\n

This is one of the most important steps. Casting directors expect a certain level of professionalism. You should be off book, dressed to \u201csuggest\u201d the role and have a clear sense of the story, character and relationship to your scene partner. Having an understanding of objectives and tactics in the scene and an active inner life is a must.<\/p>\n
